Yep…I still feel that way, but I’ve gotten a whole lot better at pushing myself to actually do it!  While I have to DRAG…I mean literally drag myself kicking and screaming to the treadmill at the gym, I’m learning to like the burning sensation that surges through my chest like my lungs are about to burn up and explode and the cramps under my ribs that feel like a knife slicing through what is probably pretty important muscles.  Okay…no that’s not true at all…I hate the way running makes me feel while I’m doing it, but really enjoy the high and sense of accomplishment once I complete my trek.

Despite my love hate relationship with this, one of the oldest forms of exercise…I’m really looking forward to the Lochrann’s Paddy Dash beginning in Frisco Square on Saturday, March 13, 2010 with registration between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. the day of the race.  The race this year will benefit the Frisco Family Services (FFS) http://www.friscocenter.org/, which is a non-profit that is dedicated to providing assistance to families and individuals in crisis in the Frisco area.

It’s a great cause and a great time for folks of all ages with a 1-mile fun run and a 5k runs which begins after the fun run.  Even though this is my first organized run and in the past my idea of a good fundraiser was a pub crawl….okay…another lie…it still is….but heck, let’s try something different with the 5k!  Information and registration details can be found at the link below!!
