Has anyone been into the new Veterinary Clinic on Legacy and Warren Parkway? The place is fantastic. The first thing you notice when you walk in to the vets office is the incredible build-out. They have created their own little version of Frisco inside the clinic. Even if you don’t have a pet, we recommend you take a minute to stop in and take a look-see.
Obviously when you pick a Veterinarian in Frisco you need more than a cool office. That being said you will be very impressed with the facility from the pet grooming to the pet boarding this place is first class and you have one of the most dedicated teams of veterinarians in the area looking after your pet.
So the next time you dog, your cat or even your exotic pet needs Veterinary Care – try our friends and Legacy Veterinary Hospital.

While I’m not in the market for a new home…in fact…I think I would be perfectly content living in a condo for the rest of my life…..I do have a few friends that are looking to buy. So shoveling show, keeping up the flower beds, washing windows and most of all…I get to float around my pool (sipping a margarita on the rocks with salt of course) in the summer while everyone else is out mowing their lawns. But either way is all about a personal choice!
I have two friends that is looking to buy homes in Frisco in the next few months…and both chose to use a realtor to help them make the selection for their dream home.
First, let me say this….realtors have always been about at the same level in my mind as the angry lady that works in the shoe department at Macy’s. They don’t care about you and helping you out…they just want to make a sale no matter how not truthful they can be. I mean, you don’t see the lady at Macy’s being honest with you and tell you your foot is too fat for that pair of heels…she grabs her shoe horn and jams your poor foot into the thing with such force your toe nail polish chips. The she sits back and says how wonderful they look and how comfortable they are and how all I need now is a little sun dress to brighten up the day.
Pretty much as how I’ve always imagined realtors to be…oh the backyard is too small…they tell you intimate gatherings are the new thing now. Not enough closet space…they tell you about the local church yard sale that need donations. Bad wooden paneling….not worries…everything comes back into style…who ever though the tunic would be big again?
So when my friends hold me they went to a realtor to help them with the purchase these were all the things that were running through my head. Both selected to use One Plus Reality in Frisco. I actually have been fairly close to helping one of my male friends make the buy as he was looking for some feminine input (men see a small spare bedroom and thing….GAME ROOM….women see a small bedroom and think NURSERY)…which clearly he did.
And wow did these ladies change my mind about the real estate process and agent. They were wonderful!! Caring, interested in what you are looking for and more than willing to explain the process, fees and other things that are very foreign to a first time home buyer. Rebecca was great and had wonderful suggestions that were very reassuring for all parties involved. I can’t say how much it changed my perspective on the home buying experience and I wasn’t even the one looking. Do yourself a favor, before considering selling or buying your next house, make it a point to check out http://www.1plusrealty.com/

There is a revolutionary Keratin treatment for all kinds of hair called Brazilian Blowout. This is a intense treatment that last for up-to 4 months and leaves hair soft, shiny and frizz free.
Why does the Brazilian Blowout work so well? The Brazilian Blowout smooths the hair through the use of a proprietary polymer system called Keratin – the Keratin bonds amino acids to the surface of the hair. The Keratin treatment is 100% safe. What makes the Brazilian Blowout treatment so effective is the Super Nutrient Complex Keratin in conjunction with a proprietary polymer system. The effect is round, smooth hair follicles and cuticles; this repairs any preexisting damage.
Where Can I get the Brazilian Blowout in Frisco?
There is only one hair salon that we know of in Frisco that is trained and specializes in the Brazilian Blowout, it is the Matthew Dillard Salon on Preston Rd. near Stonebriar Mall. The address is 2693 Preston Road #1080 Frisco Tx. 75034 and you can make an appointment by calling (972) 571-7787
We look forward to hearing about your Experience and we look forward to seeing you with your new healthy frizz free hair after you get the Brazilian Blowout – Have fun and look fabulous.

I’d like to say that I really have a green thumb, but honestly….I don’t. Despite having dropped a few bills on a number of pots, the “cream of the crop” miracle grow soil and the meticulous watering schedule I’ve found myself keeping up with in the mornings and and evening…I just can’t seem to get the proper mix of soil, water and fertilizer. Truth be told….it’s really frustrating…my grandfather and mother could grow just about anything…corn, pumpkins, cukes, watermelons and a million other strange squashes and fruits.
Even though I do not have a yard and garden to deal with, a home-owner friend of mine mention this Master Gardening series that hosts workshops from time to time in Frisco. And sheesh…if I can learn a thing or two to keep my potted plants and upside down hydroponic tomatoes alive it’s well worth the time investment!
The free workshop on “Lawn Care 101” from the Master Gardener Series. In less than two hours, discover how to identify potential problem spots in your new or established landscape and how to responsibly maintain and manage the natural beauty of your lawn.
The workshop will be held Saturday, May 1st from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Frisco Public Works Facility located at 11300 Research Road. Space may be limited, so please send an email to waterwise@friscotexas.gov or call (972)292-5814 to reserve seats. When emailing, please provide your address, number of people who will be attending, and the best number or email to reach you for confirmation.

There are a million things that I love to do during the summer in Frisco. I could probably go on and on about what my favorite dish is on my favorite patio, and where I like to see live music and plop down to read a book or walk my pup. Again, these are in no particular order!

- Stonebriar Spa – It’s pedicure season…enough said.
- Crawfish Boils
- Outdoor concert events at Dr. Pepper or Pizza Hut Park (Jimmy Buffet will be there this summer)

I love, love, love baseball and I’m so excited that it’s that time again!! The sight of the crowd, the smell of the hotdogs, the taste of the cold draft beer, hearing the crack of the bat…a live baseball game is sensory overload at its finest!
The Rough Riders, who play in our own backyard at the Dr. Pepper Ball Park in Frisco are a great time for friends and families at a relatively inexpensive price.
On Saturday, May 8th at 7:00 p.m. join the Mary Kay Foundation for Pink in the Park with the Frisco Rough Riders!! The mission of the event is to raise awareness and money for a cure for cancers affecting women. Tickets are still available and can be found by visit www.marykayfoundation.org.

I haven’t rambled on about a tasty, meaty meal I’ve recently devoured in some time. I think mainly because I’ve been sticking to salads and uneventful, plain (gross) chicken breasts. We are leaving for a week-long beach vacation and I’m slightly terrified with even entertaining the thought of purchasing a new swim suit and wearing it in public. I’ve been wearing the same one now for oh…the better part of 10 years….and now my “closer to 30” body is conflicted between a one or two piece.
But I digress…this isn’t about my starvation (however I think I would give up my first born for a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a Coors Light from Kenny’s right about now) it’s about chowing down on some yummy STEAK!!!!
Silver Fox Steakhouse is possibly my favorite “not for a special occasion” joint to get a steak for nice seafood. Ummm….the more I think about that….Houston’s is still my favorite casual place for steak, but Silver Fox is definitely a close second. I want to really emphasis that III Forks or Bob’s, this is not, but the food, service, location and most importantly, the price can’t be bead in Frisco.
My two favorites are the (for a lite bite) the Blackened Salmon Cesar Salad and (when I’m really hungry) the Prime New York Strip Steak (12 oz)….with a side of mac n cheese. None of them have failed me yet….the steak is always tender and cooked exactly to my request, and I must say…other than the Lobster Mac at Nick and Sam’s in Uptown…this is my FAVORITE macaroni and cheese (sorry mom)!!
Not only is the food mighty consistent, so is the service and the atmosphere. It’s moderately noisy which can be expected on a weekend evening and generally pretty packed. Packed normally means yummy so I’m using this as a good thing…I mean how many times on a Friday night have you waited 40 minutes for a table at Denny’s? And the service has always been good, quick and host of all helpful…they are still working on getting my out of ordering my “normal” choices which I tend to order EVERY time.
If you are looking for a nice, reasonably priced restaurant to enjoy a good steak and a glass of wine…out Silver Fox on your list!!!

I’ve never been a big fan of the sport of golf, actually, I used to categorize it right there next to NASCAR in the sports arena. Driving a car around in a circle for hours or whacking a little white ball around and chasing it for hours…neither one ever really screamed TRY ME before. But since moving to the south a few years back where everyone seems to play and you can play more than two and a half times a year, it’s begun to grow on me.
While I’ve never played 18 holes myself, I’ve gone with friends and boyfriend to play many times on the weekends or in the evening. The majority of the courses in Frisco are very nicely groomed and well kept. Just being out on the course gets you away from the concrete jungle that we live in Dallas/Fort Worth area and allows for a breath of fresh air.
Listed below are a number of the courses that I’ve been to over the last year or so. Some are better than others, but then again…I’m just judging by the landscaping and fresh air, not the difficulty or how fun the course is to place.
- Trails of Frisco Golf Club
- Plantation Golf Club
- Golf Club at Frisco Lakes
- West Ridge Golf Club
- Ridgeview Ranch Golf Course (my personal favorite)
I’m sure this would have been much more helpful if the local weather ladies and gentleman weren’t calling for scattered showers this week, but check the forecast and book a tee time!!

We all know that the green movement is more popular than ever, people recycling, car pooling and buying organic, it’s a movement that touches out lives just about every day. Well in Frisco, cleaning your home can be organic now too….best of all, you don’t even have to lift a finger to get your home spelling spring clean…the organic way. Maid is Frisco is an organic cleaning service that will keep your home in tip top shape all year round.
Now, you are probably thinking to yourself…hmmmmm where the heck does someone find this kinda stuff? Just for the record, I have about oh, a total of about 800 square feet and I’m on a budget so I bite the bullet each week and clean my own home. But I’ll tell you what…if I could afford it, I would call Candi at Maid in Frisco in a heartbeat.
I actually had a friend that was living out of state and trying to sell their home here in Frisco. He contact Candi to keep his house clean for the realtor to show each week until it was finally sold. Come to find out, not only are they a cleaning service, they are an organic 100% eco-friend non-toxic cleaning product using cleaning service that offers….get this…. Aromatherapy scents to freshen any room.
Here are a few of their services they offer, I picked these because they are the things that I dislike doing the most:
- Cleaned and disinfected shower and tub (I would honestly pay someone just to get ALL the scum off my show door)
- Clean the inside of the microwave ( I live alone and there’s always a lean cuisine bubbling over)
- Blinds dusted (who remembers to do this until you go to open them one sunny day and notice they are two shades darker than you thought)
- Unloading the dishwasher (it’s so easy I know….but I HATE IT)
Those are just a few of the services offered. Call Maid in Frisco or log onto their web site for an instant estimate!
